Shy singing

I haven’t posted anything about Shy for a while. He’s doing well. For some reason he gets along with dad better than with mom. He probably recognizes the alpha male of the household and gives him some respect, reacting properly to “no”. Shy is one of those personalities who want to socialize but easily get overstimulated and become a bit rough. Plus, of course, his hormone level hasn’t fully stabilized after the surgery - it can take up to four months.

After he hit mom several times while being petted and purring, she realized she needed to break the pattern and limited her attempts to pet him, sticking only to cleaning his litterbox and bowls behind a closed door. Why? Because it’s his “property”, his critical resources, and all the hitting incidents were connected to that - mom doing something near his stuff and him trying to "protect" it.

Dad doesn’t feed him, he just works in the office. Shy comes to him, asks for pets, gets some, and is learning not to use his claws to attract attention. I think dad’s low voice is the key. You can often see Shy lying next to dad’s feet under the computer desk. But if he sees mom walking by, it’s almost guaranteed he’ll start singing.
