Bonding with mom?
I’m not really sure why they all suddenly decided to do it. They had lunch, and it’s not like they were super hungry - they calmly went back to their bowls after quick face‑washing breaks until everything was gone. Then one little troublemaker (tiger grey, who else) went to mom, and while she was cleaning his face, he decided to have a “dessert.” The others noticed and were like “Hey, that’s a great idea!” Everyone was purring, and Masseeka didn’t move away, so it clearly was

Surprise!
We thought they were done with milk almost a month ago. Nope. Funny, Masseeka's belly doesn't even look or feel like she produces any milk any more.

Portraits
Our princess. Forgot to mention that she is not even 6 pounds. Really miniature girl, with super long tail and paws. Ryzyk is not that big himself, but looks huge next to her.

Concerto grosso
To be honest, it wasn’t their most magnificent performance - Masseeka and the kids usually deliver a stronger show. This video was filmed before lunch, not breakfast. They had already eaten, played freely in the room, taken a nap back in their playpen, and were just waking up ready for lunch. We need to catch the breakfast concert - that’s when she usually gives a better solo and the full orchestra joins in, not just one or two voices. Those soft “mrr” sounds are from Ryzyk.

Full fam
Here are several moments from today. The third looks like an ideal moment of life - full family together, fed, happy, ready for a little afterlunch nap.

Fluffy Buddhist
Early morning. We come into the “cat room” carrying two bowls - Fancy Feast for Ryzyk and “soup” (Royal Canin Mother & Babycat mixed with KMR formula) for Masseeka. They hear our steps long before we open the door and start greeting us enthusiastically. Masseeka sits on the shelf inside the playpen (we lock her with the kittens for the night for safety) and gives us the loudest, longest meoooooows imaginable. Meanwhile, Ryzyk greets us with his gentle, mom‑like mrrr, rubbing

Friends
Ryzyk: “I know, mom. She should clean herself… But she doesn’t. So I was helping again. Just a little bit. You know how she is.” Masseeka: “Let him finish! Privacy, please! This is a delicate procedure!”

Masseeka's first bath... sorta
Yup, we had to wash Her Highness today - well, partially. She stepped right into her own dodoo and absolutely did not care. Why would she? The household staff exists precisely for this purpose. If they want to clean it, fine. If not… let everyone bask in the royal fragrance. It took us a while to figure out why the smell refused to leave even after we cleaned the litterboxes in the morning. Masseeka was performing her best “Who, me?” face. Ryzyk, of course, was pristine as al

She is loud!
Beware, Masseeka is an opera singer. I promise she’s not nearly as hungry as she sounds. We know it’s tough being a milk factory for five — especially when you’re young and tiny — so we feed her more often than our other cats. She goes through about two large cans a day, plus a Churu tube and formula, as you can see. Dry kitten kibble is just her midnight snack; she doesn’t get much of it because she needs plenty of liquids to keep the milk bar running at full capacity.

Earlier this year
Here is a little reel with the gang from earlier this year - before they were adopted. My family took Ryzyk (Tiger), Masseeka, and Shy. Why? Well, obviously no one would want a semi-feral, not-social Shy. He had known me and mom for over a year but always stayed behind, carefully watching and waiting until, in his opinion, it was safe. We knew it would be a long process: helping him get used to us and the home, recovering from necessary surgery, and re-socializing him with ou

Eating styles
A quick look into our cattle members’ culinary philosophies. Bowls are together only for the photo - normally everyone eats in their own micro‑kingdom. Metal bowl - Landlord (Baker): “I’m not finishing this. I’m saving it for later. Or for never. Because if I want more, you’ll bring more. That’s how the economy works.” Ryzyk’s bowl (not on the picture, but looks about the same): “Yes, I also practice the ‘I’ll come back whenever I feel like it’ method. Fresh food appears on d

Coming soon!
So, the white-and-brown cloud of matted fluff (now featuring an ugly but practical haircut) has been living in our house for almost a month already. Seems like, as of June 23, she is a week or so away from giving a birth, and based on size of her belly, there going to be at least 4 kittens. Haircut was "from the waist down".
